Conceal Carry Course
DAY ONE Preparation:

Class starts promptly at 9:00 am (Saturday) and ends at 6pm.

If you are bringing a firearm, THERE IS NO LIVE AMMO IN CLASS!

Classroom time will be 8 hours long. Around the 4-5 hour mark, we will break for lunch. You can brown bag or visit a nearby establishment. Please remember class is a FULL DAY, but a fun day. You will be learning how pistol firearms function, the different types and parts of ammunition, along with comprehensive firearms safety instruction.

Things you will need to bring for DAY ONE:
• Your current FOID card
• Pencil or pen
• Personal snacks

Conceal Carry Course
DAY TWO Preparation:

Class starts promptly at 10am (Sunday) and ends at 5pm.

Classroom time will be 8 hours long and includes designated range time for qualification shooting. This portion of the course will cover all state required elements for you to fulfill the application to the State for a Concealed Carry Permit. You will learn the actual application process, as well as other items needed for you to complete application on line. Instruction will cover the current Illinois Law, how to develop a DEFENSIVE MINDSET, and modes of carry.

There is a 30 round qualification shoot in which 70% is passing:
• 10 rounds from 15 feet
• 10 rounds from 21 feet
• 10 rounds from 30 feet

Things you will need to bring for DAY TWO:
• Your current FOID card
• Pencil or pen
• Personal snacks
• Range Fee money (typically $20)
• Hearing and eye protection (rentals available, pay at range)
• Firearm for range (rentals available, pay at range)
• Ammo (100 rounds minimum, ammunition available, pay at range)
• Strong side hip holster that covers trigger, outside the waist band. If you need one, we have some you can use. This is for dry-fire practice.

Where are classroom instruction courses held?

Our professional classroom is conveniently located inside Mega Sports facility in Plainfield, IL. Due to the length of classroom time, there will scheduled breaks for lunch. The location offers many food options nearby.

Where does qualification shooting take place?

The State of Illinois requires CCW applicants meet the minimum standard for shooting accuracy. This qualification will occur after classroom instruction at Mega Sports professional indoor range located on the main floor.
