Basic Pistol
This course covers foundational information for pistol style firearms. This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.
Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
In our basic class we cover both types of handguns (revolver and semi autos) we provide a choice of several different handguns to use. You will be shooting different calibers, this way you can get the feeling of how each will feel. Part of the basic course is for you to get an idea of what to look for when you purchase.
Classes not only cover firearms and how they function, but also ammunition, its parts, and the right ammo for your handgun. It covers ammo malfunctions and how to handle them.
